Question: Can you add Actions to Adobe Photoshop Elements 10? Answer: Yes you can, but not all Actions are compatible and some will not work.

How to add actions to Photoshop Elements 10

To add actions to the action player, if you’re using Windows 7 or Vista, just save ithe action script into:

C:\ ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Locale\en_US\Workflow Panels\Actions
(the “en_US” part is different if you aren’t in the United States).

For Windows XP, save it in:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Ele- ments\10.0\Locale\en_us\Workflow Panels\Actions
(ditto on the en_US info).
(You need to turn on hidden folder viewing for Windows operating systems, since these are hidden files.)

On a Mac, load the action script into:
HardDrive➝ Library➝Application Support➝Adobe➝Photoshop Elements➝10.0➝Locale➝en_ US➝Workflow Panels➝Actions
(as in Windows, the “en_US” part is different if you aren’t in the U.S.).

If you have the Mac App Store version:
Go to Applications and right-click/Control-click Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor, then choose:
Show Package Contents➝Contents➝Application Data➝Photoshop Elements➝10.0➝Locale➝en_US (or your location)➝Workflow Panels➝Actions.
(You'll see a message that the Actions folder can't be modified; click Authenticate and enter your OS X password when asked, and then you can put the action there.)

However, if the action has stops or requires the use of the layers panel, you'll want to install it in the effects panel instead.

Not all Actions are compatible with PhotoShop Elements and the only way to find out is to install it and run it.
